Tips for a better 9 photo collage
Square is natural
A 3 × 3 grid in a square frame gives nine square cells, so photos crop evenly. At 1080 px each cell is about 350 px wide.
Use the centre
Eyes land in the middle of a 3 × 3 grid first. Put your best photo there, or switch to the centre-frame layout to make it bigger.
Instagram profile grid is different
This makes one image with nine photos. To split one photo across nine posts on your profile, use the Instagram grid maker instead.
Need words for the post?
Describe what’s in your collage and get five captions to choose from, plus hashtags. Written by AI when you press the button, never before. It only sees the words you type here, never your photos.
Questions
How do I make a 3 × 3 photo grid?
The 3 × 3 grid is selected by default here. Add nine photos, adjust the spacing, and download. For other sizes up to 10 × 10, use the photo grid maker.
What size is each photo in a 9 photo grid?
Roughly a third of the image minus spacing: about 350 px in a 1080 px square at 8 px spacing, or about 1190 px at Print quality.
What if I only have 7 or 8 photos?
Empty frames are filled with the background colour in the download, or switch to “Rows 3 · 3 · 2” (8 photos) or “Rows 2 · 3 · 2” (7).
